Job Overview
We currently have a vacancy for an Electrical Engineer to join our Longwall Electrical Engineering team based at Rutherford. You will be required to play a leading role in the delivery of reliable and safe designs of electrical equipment for Komatsu’s underground coal mining products as well as providing technical support.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Preparation of electrical design, Schematics, cabling schedules, single line diagrams, protection drawings and other engineering specifications to deliver outstanding support for our customers.
- Provide technical assistance/ liaison to manufacturing, including reviewing and acting upon requests for parts deviation from drawings and requests for drawing revisions to aid manufacturing process across the Australian region
- Assist with field trial tests with respect to product development, performance analysis, and failure analysis of equipment in the Australian region.
- Investigate issues and provide technical assistance to deliver outstanding support for our customers
- Support global engineering teams in product development and analysis of product issues in the Australian Region
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor of Electrical or Electronic Engineering Degree or equivalent relevant discipline.
- Electrical Engineering chartered status (or working towards) is desired.
- A strong interest in control systems and communications.
- Closed-loop control systems and control system theory (classical and modern) is desired.
- A knowledge of mining equipment solutions and the industry is desired.
- Experienced in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools, desired.
- Participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles, desired.
- Participation in effective Change Management implementation, desired.
- Experience in cross-functional team assignment(s), highly desired.
- Certifications or demonstrated project management, desired.
