Position Description
Important Responsibilities
The Project Software Engineer, under the supervision of experienced Project and/or Development Software Engineers, will:
- Simulate a complete power electronics system for industrial applications such as marine propulsion, oil and gas, metal rolling mills, and power production.
- For VFD control upgrades and new development VFDs, provide the Controller Hardware. Customise the Drive/Converter Software and HMI before validating and testing on a test bench or an HIL Real Time platform.
- Create project artefacts such as software design and installation instructions.
- Encourage the Drive Commissioning
Qualifications/Requirements
Electrical Engineering Bachelor's Degree
Ability and desire to travel up to 20% of the time to resolve site issues
Characteristics Desired
Autonomous, inquisitive, and capable of understanding new concepts, coaching other engineers, and integrating into a team
Power Electronics Converters (MMC, multilayer VSI, LCI, DC drives or Cycloconverter), Variable Speed Application (three phase/multiphase induction/synchronous motors), STATCOM, or active filtering are major courses.
