JOB PURPOSE

As part of the Engineering function, the candidate will lead automation and process optimization activities, providing standardization and compliance whilst ensuring transformational change activities are delivered seamlessly into the production environment.

The candidate will be an established practitioner in the field of automation, able to demonstrate mastery in machine and system integration, helping drive our zero-loss ambition.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the site Digital & Automation program, skills and capabilities 
• Support for Focused Improvements and efficiency improvement
• Control system safety subject matter expertise and lead of validation/upgrade program. 
• Define site automation standards, Identify and extend good practice
• Product and technology innovation project support.
• Management of obsolescence 
• WCM Apply the full set of WCM methods and tools to identify root causes, define countermeasures and validate their effectiveness; mastery of AM, PM, Q and FI tools and processes.
• RTS. Development of enabling technologies to support the digitization of Run to Standard activities.
• Process and Organisational Design. Leverage technical knowledge and systems approach to ensure factory lines and processes are performing optimally 
• Analytical capability. Collect and analyse complex data to penetrate problems’ phenomena and understand root causes. 
• Passion for performance: Building World-class factories will eliminate losses and ensure that we do not pass on the cost of inefficiencies to our customers and consumers. 
• Agility: By providing consistent and near real-time information, decisions can be taken quickly which leverage our resources.

• Siemens S7 PLC/HMI/Delta V skills 
• Safety PLC’s
• Motion Control systems
• Networks - Profibus/Asi Bus Profisafe/Asi Safe
• Simatic Manager and Simatic/TIA Portal
• Statistics and process control tools
• Desirable: AM, PM, Quality and FI tools, Project Management
• HNC in Electrical/Electronics essential, Post Graduate level education; Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Preference for Multi skills (Mech, Elec & Instrumentation/PLC/Delta V & Rosemount)
• Minimum dual skilled with the ability to be skilled in Electrical & PLC/Delta V & Rosemount
• Accredited qualification in machinery safety
• Able to visualize the ideal production system
• Able to clearly understand operating principles and establish operating standards;
• Able to present findings and rationales clearly to wider team and stakeholders.
• Able to make logical decisions based on data.

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money.
